Popular Culture in the 20 th Century • Each individual must research a Decade in the 20 th Century and look at the major trends, events, fads, music, art, and fashions in popular culture from that decade. Find 12 -15 different ones. • Then you must identify 4 of the most significant pop culture items from your decade and create a Powerpoint slideshow that meets these criteria: • Compose a general introduction to your decade’s “popular culture” (1 slide) • Compose a slide that details each of the 4 significant pop culture items from that decade • You must select a song that best represents your decade that can be played while your slides are read • Each slide must combine visuals (pictures, drawings, etc. ) and informative text (minimum 3 important points about the pop culture item) • You will be marked on the following: content, research, significance of the pop culture items (unless otherwise strongly argued), and the visual/audio appeal of your section. Each will be rated out of 5.
