POLS 503 |803 Washington Seminar: Inauguration 2021 Full Spring semester course open to both undergrads (4 credits) and graduate students (3 credits). Kick off will be a full week of virtual programming done through our partnership with the Washington Center, Jan 11 -15, with exciting speakers and panels every morning where we will hear from Washington insiders, elected representatives, journalists and experts in the many areas of vital interest to the nation as we head into a new Congress and the start of the next Presidential term and all of the questions that raises for the nation and the world. We will be joined by students from around the nation & the world and use a shared syllabus to bring us up to date on the issues covered each day. Afternoons will be spent with our Suffolk Group in educational briefings that bring us (virtually) behind the scenes to the people and agencies that make Washington work. The rest of the semester online at Suffolk, we will reconvene panels of experts, webinar style, in collaboration with GBH to follow developments in thematic areas we explored during the TWC Seminar. Students will work on associated projects in small groups throughout the semester & present their findings at our Spring Student Research Conference.
