Officer Terrence Carraway rushed to respond when a gunman opened fire from a home

Officer Terrence Carraway rushed to respond when a gunman opened fire from a home in South Carolina. As the barrage of bullets kept coming, he and his colleagues had to be rescued. Carraway was among seven law enforcement officers who were shot Wednesday evening during a standoff that began hours earlier when deputies attempted to execute a search warrant. The gunman just continued shooting when more law enforcement officers arrived. The officers could not get away because gunfire was being shot all over. As the suspect barricaded himself in the home with children, authorities used a mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle to get the officers out. After being shot, Carraway died on his way to the hospital. As authorities continue investigating the shooting on Thursday, many questions remain unanswered. It is as of yet unclear why he opened fire. The gunman, who was not identified, was arrested Wednesday night. He surrendered after talking to a negotiator. The condition of the other officers who were wounded was not immediately known.
