Love comes suddenly , mysteriously , cause pain and need a medicine as does the disease.

Love is an evil spirit ? ? • It was said that the Swahili poets believe that love is an evil spirit (shetan) sent by God to tempt us and only strong people can resist it. This could partially be true in ‘Love doesn’t know secrets” as he says (love seizes man …turns him mad. . it’s an incurable disease). The poet here says that it’s evil spirit but no clue that it was sent by God and also no clue that strong people will resist it as in the words of the poet “an old man may be put to shame “.
