Podcast Series Trends in Urban Planning Jacob Doro
Podcast Series: Trends in Urban Planning Jacob Doro INFO 326 Final Project Proposal
Format I would like to create a podcast series for this final project. I have begun listening to podcasts in recent years quite often, so the prospect of creating a short series is interesting to me. I would like to address trends within the field of Urban Planning, as well as how these trends have changed over the years. I will also relate this back to the over arching theme of media by looking at how news sources have relayed urban planning news to the public throughout the years.
Platform I own a Mac. Book laptop so I will likely be using the free Garage Band software that comes with it to create the podcasts. I will also look into using a high quality microphone that allows for better sound quality.
Questions The goal of this podcast is to create a short series that discusses how urban planning has changed over the last few centuries. This is a long period of time so I will probably give a brief overview of early planning trends and techniques, and focus more on recent trends of planning that have taken place in the United States. While I may discuss the urban planning, or lack there of, in ancient cultures, this will likely be a short discussion that gives listeners an easy overview of the early history of the field. I also think I will spend a short amount of time, two minutes or so, at the end of each podcast to discuss the forms of media prevalent during that era and how they effected planning efforts.
