WHAT IS TRANSITION YEAR? A one year program which • Facilitates a smoother transition between Junior and Senior Cycle • Helps students prepare for the future and working life • Allows time to mature by allowing students to take on responsibility. • Builds resilience and confidence by trying new things.

What part of the year was most beneficial? trip to Dublin and Belfast was very beneficial to learn Irish history and get to see our national heritage. Work experience Having a stress-free year. **** benefited hugely on a personal level. She became more positive, more energetic and had a brighter outlook. Gaisce work and also work experience week. Cappanalea College open days. The Musical brought her out of her shell the most, and she seemed to have less social anxiety since that started too. She was so stressed last year with exams that it was great to not be worrying for while.

END OF YEAR CERTIFICATION At the end of the year, students are presented with a TY award and a portfolio of certificates earned throughout the year. Distinction 90% + Higher Merit 75 – 89% Merit 60 – 74% Pass 40 – 59% Participated 0 – 39% • To achieve this award, students must EARN credits
