Making Nouns Plural To make a noun plural, you add an -s to words ending in a vowel (a, e, i, o, u) and -es to words ending in consonants (all other letters). silla -> sillas cartel -> carteles
Exceptions When a noun ends in z, you change the z to a c and add es. lapiz -> lapices lombriz -> lombrices

Definite Articles A definite article tells the reader what specific thing we are talking about. Ex. The pen is a specific pen that has already been described or is about to be described. El and la both mean the in Spanish. El is used for masculine nouns. La is used for feminine nouns.
Plural Definite Articles When we are talking about more than one noun, we must use the plural definite articles. Los is used for plural masculine nouns and las for plural feminine nouns. In English, we use the. la silla -> las sillas el lapiz -> los lapices

Indefinite Articles Indefinite articles mean a, some, or a few. We use indefinite articles when we are not specific about the noun. Ex. A pen could be any pen, any color, size shape. We are not talking about a specific pen. Un and una are the singular indefinite articles in Spanish.
Plural Indefinite Articles When we are talking about more than one noun, we must use the plural indefinite articles. Unos is used for plural masculine nouns and unas for plural feminine nouns. In English, we use some. Un disquete -> unos disquetes Una mesa -> unas mesas
