Crafting a Conclusion: � The Basics: › The conclusion is what ppl remember and is “doubly” important as intro. � Summarize Your Main Points: › Prepare audience for end of speech without giving new information. � Paraphrasing VS Repeating: › Don’t restate, instead say in a new way, or “capture the essence of your speech. ” � End on a High Note: › End memorably with your take away message. › Use an appropriate quote or anecdote (if applicable). � Writing Your Conclusion: › Prepare audience with “trigger” phrases (aka: signposts/transitions) › Write it (and intro) after the body. › Rephrase main points and take away message.
Crafting a Conclusion: Conclusion purpose: to summarize & end. Paraphrasing is not repeating. End memorably, leave with something important and solid. Write your presentation body first. › Intro & conclusion should be written after. Deliver final stats, info or quotations. › Use “trigger phrases” aka: transition / signpost.

Added areas include: 1. “Content” THREE sources must be cited. 2. “Delivery of Information” Don’t read word-for-word, use bullet points. 3. “Enthusiasm / Energy” If you are bored, your audience will be bored.
