Remember the Basics
Observation (from November) The biggest single issue appeared to be supporters NOT Social Distancing before, during and after matches. It does not mean Team A supporters to be Socially Distanced from Team B supporters. It means all supporters of any teams to be Socially Distanced from each other – i. e. Never closer than 2 m to anyone not in their household. (normally their family)
Supporter Numbers SPECTATORS No spectators are allowed at grassroots sport as part of step one of the Government’s roadmap. This means that at this stage, no spectators are allowed at grassroots football. PARENTS/CARERS Where clubs and facilities can accommodate this safely, one parent/carer per youth player is permitted to be present at football activities although they must observe the relevant Government Covid-19 guidance. ” COVID-19: STEP ONE GUIDANCE ON THE RETURN OF GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL Version: 1. 6 Published: MARCH 24 2021 • • • One supporter player. Coach does not count as a supporter. Siblings can watch, only if child-care is not available. We appreciate this is not popular for all. We are working with councils and facility managers who will be inspecting what we do. Please do not be tempted to break this rule.
Covid-19 Symptoms Any who suspects they have the virus or displays any symptoms must not attend. It follows that anyone else who is advised to isolate, should do so and not be tempted to attend.
Entrance to a Site If there is a One-Way system, please follow it. Park in designated spots only.
Pre-Match • Don’t arrive too early • Find the allocated space to meet – Social Distancing to be observed • Also observe Social Distancing when warming up • Teams to collect all names and contact details of those associated with the team for Track and Trace each week this must include all spectators – to be kept by teams in line with government requirements • Use QR code system
The App and QR codes If the Code is not available or someone doesn’t have the App on their phone etc. , you must get people to register on a paper system and keep this for 21 days at least. Teams must do this at matches and Training https: //www. gov. uk/create-coronavirus-qr-poster? gclid=Cj 0 KCQjwk 8 b 7 BRCa. ARIs. AARRTL 4 SGFkry. Fu 7 dn 1 nu_Di 7 Myq 5 OJJYLjhu. GVMA 6 qp. Ly. Respect Marshalls • Revamped for this season • Each team to appoint a Respect Marshall who must wear a bib – can change each week • Simple role – ensure your own supporters Social Distance and follow Risk Assessment guidelines • See leaflet for further details.
During a Match • Teams to clean and sanitise practice and match ball • No goal celebrations that encroach distancing • No shouting (Players, Coaches and Parents) • Supporters Socially Distanced – Use the entire touchline, not crowded on the half-way line • Respect Marshall to volunteer from each team – use bibs previously issued • Respect Marshall to sort any issues if own supporters are not following guidance • Teams to remove ALL belongings and rubbish from the pitch area after each match.
Injuries • Coaches should wear a mask and gloves if going onto the pitch to help a player • If a player gets injured, a member of their household or support bubble, can aid them (with the referee’s consent) but others will still need to socially distance unless a life threatening, or serious injury necessitates compromising guidelines to provide emergency care. • In all cases, NHS guidance on further management should be followed
Post-Match • Referee fees to be pre-prepared by team and paid in a clear sealed bag • No Respect Handshakes at the end of games – clap instead • Exit pitch following the guidelines of the Centre • Leave vicinity of pitches immediately – no post-match team talk near the pitch.
Additional Points • Teams or individuals to provide hand sanitisers for players and coaches. Individual players should have their own, labelled with their name. • Teams to bring ball cleaning equipment • Supporters to provide own hand sanitisers • Follow Public Health England guidance if a COVID-19 case is reported for Track and Trace.
and Finally…. • The league will assume by taking part in our activity that where a child is aged 15 years or younger, then parents/carers must give informed written consent via a consent form or e-mail trail, before their child can take part in football activity. Clubs need to decide how they retain a record of those parents who have given consent (e. g. retain email, log consent form). NB: While the FA supports informed written self-consent from those aged 16 and 17 years of age – in these unusual times clubs may wish to seek parent/carer consent for these two age groups as well. Parents should be told to ensure that their child has their own water bottle, hand sanitiser, and any necessary medication (e. g. inhaler). All items belonging to their child should be labelled with their name and should not be used by anyone else
