WORKING IN GROUPS • You will be sitting in the same place and working with the same group until the first partial test. • Groups will be changed after each partial test (three times during the semester) • You will do in class activities, assignments, projects etc. with the people in your groups Please be sure to have a neat and organized work area!!

Bellwork • What is it? • The work you are expected to complete within the first five minutes of class • Bring an electronic device (computer, smart phone or tablet) every day to class. We will be using it in many of our classes.

Attending class • You are expected to attend all of the classes • If you have an unjustified absence • You will receive a cero in any quizzes, homework, assignments worked on during that class • You will receive a ‘FALTA MENOR’ REMEMBER THAT AT THE THIRD ‘FALTA MENOR’ YOU WILL RECEIVE A ‘FALTA MAYOR’ AND DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN • The only way to have a justified absence is if • You are sick and you are at the doctor’s office • There was an unexpected delay in the bus, TRAM etc. . In this case you must TAKE A PICTURE OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT OR YOUR ABSENCE WILL NOT BE JUSTIFIED • In this case you will be allowed to turn in any quizzes, homework or assignments worked on during that class. • You will have one week to turn in these missing assignments. Grades • The lowest grade you can get is a 70 • ANYTHING LOWER THAN A 70 WILL RESULT IN FAILING
Homework • Homework will be posted on Blackboard (Announcements) • If I do not have access to Blackboard soon, I will post it on tecscience. weebly. com • You are expected to turn in your homework at the beginning of class or when the teacher asks you to turn it in • Late homework will be accepted but 20 points will be taken away from your grade. This means that the highest grade you can get on that homework is an 80. • You have until the next class period to turn in any late homework. After that, homework will not be accepted and you will receive a zero. • Please turn in neat/presentable homework (legible handwriting, without wrinkles, stains etc). Otherwise, you will lose 20 points on that homework (highest possible grade will be an 80)
All assignments that you do in class (notes, homework, in class activities) must include: Name Date ID # (matricula A 0133…. ) Due date Title
Assignments • All assignments will be graded • Some you will hand in to me. Some you will complete in your notebook. • Those assignments completed in your notebook will receive a ‘signature’ • You are expected to have all of the signatures by the end of each partial so you can receive a grade for them. • This means that your notebook needs to be neat and organized.
Plagiarizing • NOT ALLOWED! • Everyone involved will receive a zero and subject to disciplinary action (‘FALTA MAYOR’)

Honor Roll • After each partial test, the top three students will be recognized by the teacher and will receive a prize
Food or Drinks • Not allowed in the classroom • Please eat/drink outside • If caught eating/drinking you will be asked to leave the classroom
Bathroom • No one is allowed to go to the bathroom
Discipline • 1 st warning- You will obtain a ‘Falta Menor’ • 2 nd warning: Leave the classroom; • you will be marked down as absent AND you will receive a second ‘Falta Menor’ • Reasons to receive a warning: • If you are not sitting down by X: 35 hrs working on bellwork (not being prepared) • Talking during lectures • Using electronic devices when you are not supposed to • Being distracting to others • Sleeping • Etc… Remember that at the third ‘Falta Menor’ you will receive a ‘Falta Mayor’ (NOTE: IF YOU ARE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM IN ANY OF YOUR CLASSES, YOU CANNOT BE WALKING AROUND THE SCHOOL.
