PROBLEM DESCRIPTION & MARKET NEED 1. INSTABILITY • Depending on weather conditions productivity of grain crops in the world varies on years on 25 % and more, and world reserves of a grain - 60 %; • Stability of plants to abiotic (soil, climate, weather) and biotic (biological components of agrarian ecological system) stresses of an environment - the most infrequent category in flora; • Increase of stability of agricultural crops to ecological stresses is included since 1977 in the list of the major problems of the National Academy of the USA.

3. PROSPECTS • Transient world reserves of wheat next marketing year will be descend to the lowest level and will amount 119 million tons; • Forecast of the International Grain Council (IGC): world wheat production in 2006 -2007 will amount 594 million tons; • Use of the Ukrainian plant growth regulators on 10 % of world fields of a winter wheat (22, 4 million ha) would allow to receive in addition 11 million tons of a grain at the cost of 1320 million $. • Today in Ukraine use of growth regulators amount 1 million ha.

STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT • Complex research of the mechanism of physiological action and of physical, chemical and toxicological properties was conducted. • The technologies of production and application of PGRs in agriculture and forestry were developed. • The new PGRs were registered in Ukraine (12 items), Republic of Belarus (6), Russia (1), Kazakhstan (4) and Germany. • The pilot production of new PGRs was created.

ADVANTAGES • PGRs are characterized by high efficiency, low doses of using (10 -20

ADVANTAGES • PGRs are characterized by high efficiency, low doses of using (10 -20 ml per 1 ton of seed or 1 hectare of sowing) and ecological safety (1 m 2 of sowing gets 1· 10 -9 g of active substance). • The technologies of their application coincide with existing agromethods. • The harvest of the basic agricultures is increased on 15 -20 % and the quality of plant products is improved.

ADVANTAGES • Joint treatment of seed with PGRs and pesticides allows to reduce the

ADVANTAGES • Joint treatment of seed with PGRs and pesticides allows to reduce the doses of sowing pesticides on 20 -30 % without lowering of the protective effect. • New PGRs decrease the contents of radionuclides, ions of heavy metals and nitrates in agricultural products. • Our PGRs have antimutagenic effect. • The cost of dose per 1 hectare is $ 2. 5 -5. 0. Putting $ 1 in technology is repaid by $ 20 -25 of additional agricultural products.
