ELECTIVES – IMPORTANT INFORMATION Athletics Students may choose Athletics from Course Card Must have a physical to participate Committing to play 2 sports Volleyball/Football, Basketball, Track, Soccer, Golf or Tennis Since signatures are not required for students to select Athletics, coaches will receive a list of students who choose Athletics and will be able to make adjustments based on requirements.

7 TH GRADE COURSE CARD
IMPORTANT REMINDERS Courses are locked by February 12 th. Classes are NOT guaranteed. Students are REQUIRED to have 2 semesters of Fine Art in middle school. Students not meeting minimum requirements on Math and/or Reading STAAR will be REQUIRED to take Math and/or Reading workshop classes. Workshop classes will replace selected electives.
HONORS CLASSES The BEST way to prepare for high school now is to begin taking Honors classes in middle school Honors courses in middle school are available to any students willing to take on the academic challenges Exception: Must have Honors Math previous year to sign up due to curriculum Students wishing to rank in the top 10% of their high school class need to pursue rigorous academic courses to prepare for high school
STEPS FOR SELECTING COURSES IN SKYWARD PLEASE NOTE: There is a separate document posted on our website with step-by- step direction. 1. Sign into Student’s Skyward Account 2. Click on Icon “Course Requests” 3. Search courses using the course # on the course card. Do NOT select courses that are not on the course card. Students selecting an inappropriate class will be removed and placed in one of their alternates. 4. Click Add to select a course. Classes may also be removed by clicking “Remove” 5. Students will pick classes. 6. Students will select 2 alternate electives. 7. Once complete, students can print their course requests, which includes alternates.
Click on Course Requests.
The screenshot below opens. Students enter their courses by subject, description, or course number. Then click add. Students are only able to earn a maximum number of credits. For example: high school students can earn 7 credits. `
Student can enter alternates, by choosing alternates. The maximum number of classes is 3.
The students can print their course requests, which includes the alternate choices.
