Intro I chose the Texas state because my mom’s side of the family lives in Texas, and I wanted to know more about Texas if I want to go see my mom’s side of the family.

History about Texas became the 28 th state on December 29 th of 1845. The French controlled Texas from 1684 -1689. The Spanish from 16901821 controlled Texas. The Mexican from 18211836 controlled Texas. The Reconstruction and Gilded Age from 18651899.

Population Of Texas 26 million people live in Texas. Within 200 miles of Austin lies 70% of the population. Texas is in the top 10 populated of US states.

Climate Lowest Temperature since 1933 is -23° F. Highest Temperature since 1994 is 120° F. Texas gets about 28 Inches of rain yearly (average).

Standards of Living Forest Spreads 22, 032 acres. Texas has four national Forests, and five state forests. Lowest elevation is the Gulf of Mexico. Guadalupe Peak (8, 749 feet) is the Highest point in Texas.
