Specification work Discussed wire order specifications with MWS Wire. The resistance specification became an issue due to both twisting and elongation changes the values. I suggested that we require a material certification that provides traceability to actual material used. This was rejected by MWS. We used “CERTS” for NASA projects. MWS suggested we accept a test report for each type of wire pair. I think this is about all we can expect from MWS wire. It seems we are the first to ask for acceptance tests of this level. MWS has not updated their web site with NEMA MW 1000 -2008 revision. There is some discrepancies between the specifications listed below and the MWS web site. They are, however, minor.
