Save word processing files in Rich Text Format (rtf) or Word 97 -2003 version when you bring files from home – NO Works files!
Using the Internet l l l Your log-on username is 1 st initial, last name, and a number (same one in grade school) Your password is created by you---write it in a safe place in case you forget it; Use for school-related information only! No gaming, IM, or emailing unless for school use Printing from the Internet: – – – Educational printing only! Read before you print – Ask: Is this what I need? ? ? Use CPR – Copy, Paste, Reduce to word processing 5 pages maximum printed NEVER Print An Entire Website!!!
Evaluating Internet Sources l l You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet! Anyone, anywhere can post anything they want on the Internet! You must evaluate the information and decide whether or not the information presented is accurate. Domains such as. edu, . org, and. gov can help you determine whether or not information found on a website is reliable.
Checking Materials in and Out l l l To check out library materials, please know your library number – Month, Day of your BD Most books = 3 weeks (if needed longer, please renew) Reference items = overnight Current Magazines & Newspapers = No Checkout unless for a special reason Return books to the Circulation Desk No checkouts if you owe for lost / overdue library books
