Pierce County ARES � We DON’T � Operate in our own area. � Only Communicate in our own ZONE / AREA � We DO � Perform as a TEAM � Work as a TEAM � Communicate as a TEAM � Go where help is needed as a TEAM � We operate - COUNTY WIDE As a TEAM

Pierce County ARES � So… �Why do we practice as a small individual group? In our own Zone / Area? �Why do we have the county divided into Geographical Areas when that’s not how we respond to a disaster? A MAJOR Disaster won’t be local, affecting only one area of the County �Why do we conduct our weekly NETS according to those Geographical Areas?

Pierce County ARES � � � Wouldn’t it make more sense to operate our NETS and to do our Drills / Practices as we would respond in an actual Event? As a TEAM? For the Benefit of all of Pierce County? So……

Pierce County ARES � � � The Zones / Areas are being eliminated. We are going to start conducting the NETS and Drills as we would conduct ourselves in a actual event Instead of Zone / Area Nets, we are going to move towards NETS / Drills based on EOC’s and the Local Communication Nets

You’re encouraged to participate in more than one There will be sign up sheets at the September Meeting. This change will go into effect on Saturday September 29 th with the EOC to EOC drill
