![The number of ~ rose [declined] steadily during ~ 在~期間，~的數字穩定上昇[下降] The rise [fall] continued](http://slidetodoc.com/presentation_image_h/f898deb40a3e279e2227e377de9557e4/image-18.jpg "The number of ~ rose [declined] steadily during ~ 在~期間，~的數字穩定上昇[下降] The rise [fall] continued")
The number of ~ rose [declined] steadily during ~ 在~期間，~的數字穩定上昇[下降] The rise [fall] continued until it reached 35. There are rises [drops] at three-months intervals.
上下變動 表示座標圖中的上下變動，可用以下動詞和名詞 動詞 rise increase grow ── boom shoot up improve ── recover 名詞 rise increase growth upturn boom ── improvement [take] a turn for the better recovery 上昇 增加 成長 (景氣等)好轉 景氣驟升 迅速升起 改善 轉好 (景氣等)回復

由於某種原因造成「線」的變動時，以原因為主 詞，使用下列動詞，顯示效果 cause, bring, make, lower, heighten, slow Example The accident slowed down the growth of production. The renewal of interest in English caused a rise in the demand for English schools.
![線的變動 The two lines cross [intersect, meet] at ~ Line A crosses [intersects,](http://slidetodoc.com/presentation_image_h/f898deb40a3e279e2227e377de9557e4/image-26.jpg "線的變動 The two lines cross [intersect, meet] at ~ Line A crosses [intersects,")
The two lines cross [intersect, meet] at ~ Line A crosses [intersects, meets] line B. The line cuts the axis at ~ 與~軸線相切 The line turns upward [downward]. The straight line joins the two points. If we plot the function, we shall get a straight line. Graphically the formula [equation] gives a curve, as shown in Fig. 5.
