We will be covering topics including: + • Scientific Measurements • Kinematics • Dynamics • Conservation Laws • Electricity and Magnetism • Waves • Light

What your child needs for class: • A Scientific Calculator An up to date binder with a section for notes, quizzes, homework, and labs and class activities. This will help your child stay organized and prepare for tests • + Each student has a Physics Textbook to use as a resource. If they have questions about a particular topic they should read the appropriate sections. •

Classroom Calendar and Learning Objectives The Agenda, Learning Objectives, and Assignments are posted on the board everyday. • + It is the student’s responsibility to take note of the learning objectives and turn their assignments in on time. •

Extra Help and Make-Up Work The make-up work policy is “twice the number of classes or days missed”. • It is the student’s responsibility to request any missed work on the day of their return. • • + Students can come to ACCESS on Tuesdays after 2 nd period for extra help or to make-up assignments, quizzes, and labs. Science tutors are available all periods (1 -7) except period 5. •

Grading • The grading for Physics is roughly equal to: • • Tests Homework and Quizzes Lab activities Final Exam 50% 20% 10% + Students will have the opportunity to retake one test • • The lowest lab grade will be dropped Students receive two “I Need A Break” per semester •
