WHAT IS MATTER? Anything in the universe that take up space is known as Matter, makes up anything you can feel, smell or touch.

HOW DO WE MEASURE MATTER? • Weight • A measure of the force of gravity on you. • Mass • The amount of matter in an object • Mass does not change with location • Volume

WHAT IS VOLUME? • Volume • The amount of space that matter occupies • Volume = Length x Width x Height • Units = cm x cm = cm 3

WHAT IS DENSITY AND HOW IS IT MEASURED? Density • A measure of the mass of a material in a given volume • Density= Mass/Volume
