Lab Report Suggested Format Page 1 of 4 • Each student must submit their own version of lab report. Use your own words and your own understanding (not copied from lab manual and/or text book). • Do not describe installation and construction in great details. Just a small paragraph describing types of sensors, devices, instruments, meters and major components used will suffice. • Submit your lab reports on stapled paper, do not submit in a binder. Reports must be typed. Mathematical equations, formulas, diagrams, Q/A section of lab print-outs etc. can be hand PRINTED. 2
Lab Report Suggested Format Page 2 of 4 • Remember, it is the quality of write-up that matters, not the quantity. So, be specific and precise. • Section I: Your name, Lab title, lab number (e. g. P 47, P 48 etc. ), name of the lab partners, date of experiment and date of lab report. • Section II: Purpose, goal, abstract etc. for the experiment including formula 3
Lab Report Suggested Format Page 3 of 4 • Section III: Data Table and other calculations • Section IV: Graphs, diagrams, pictures etc. • Section V: Description of the errors made and how were they discovered and corrected. 4
Lab Report Suggested Format Page 4 of 4 • Section VI: Question/Answer Section • Section VII: Final results, conclusion and what you learned (Use your own words, not copied from lab manual). • Try to conserve papers. Do not write word “Section I” , “Section II” etc. Instead title each section, e. g. Purpose, Equipments used, Mistakes made, Conclusion etc. Skip a couple of lines to separate each section from other section. 5
