Colonization history and population demography

Sakhalin and Hokkaido Islands population demography Hokkaido Island Sakhalin Island «founder effect» • several colonizations ? • not enough time for the genetic drift ? According to SRY data Islands are genetically identical, but cytochrome b analysis shows us great differences. It may be the result of more active dispersion of males compared to females.
