WARNING: NOT all photon interactions at the LHC are accessible but only those for which the inclusive QCD background can be strongly suppressed, as for example in the exclusive production of pairs of charged particles. This means studying production of selected final states in photon interactions at the LHC (watch diffraction). Essential role of efficient tagging of photon-induced events! Need for very forward proton detectors. NB. Very important process of the Higgs boson production by WW fusion: pp (WW H) HX Photon Workshop, CERN, April'08 K. Piotrzkowski- UCLouvain

One year from now – first high energy photon interactions observed and studied at the LHC! Need to push for photon physics – to identify most interesting processes and prepare full analyses. Need for that dedicated forward detectors – we have to build and install them as soon as possible. We must to exploit the LHC potential to its fullest! Next workshop is planned for end of May 2009 in Belgium (UCLouvain) – come and enjoy fresh LHC data and great Belgian beer! Photon Workshop, CERN, April'08 K. Piotrzkowski- UCLouvain
