What is Photomath? Photomath is an app which assists the user with mathbased problems. The user has two options within the app: use Photomath’s smart camera calculator to simply point your phone at a problem, or type the problem into the app manually. Either way, the app will give the user the answer as well as step-by-step instructions on how to solve the problem.

Camera Calculator: Photomath’s camera calculator is very easy to use. All the user has to do is point the camera at a neatly written problem and give it a second to register in the app. Once registered, the app will display the answer to the problem at the bottom of the screen.

Manual Calculator: If the math problem isn’t on paper, or if it’s just not written neatly enough for the camera calculator to recognize it, Photomath gives the user the option to manually type in any problem. This process is very easy since Photomath has multiple keyboards so that nearly any high school level math function can be typed.

Step-by-Step Instructions: Photomath doesn’t just display the answer to a math problem, but it also shows the user step-by-step instructions on how to reach the answers. These instructions are very detailed and helpful for the user to actually understand how to do similar problems on future worksheets, quizzes, and tests.
