For this image I used old paper with scratches and layered that on top of the image and turned the opacity down. By using the mask tool I was able to erase parts of the paper to make it appear that it was ripped on one side. I then adjusted the colour balance and adjusted the brightness / contrast so that the image was a bit more striking on one side. Finally I added a cracked effect to one side of the face and made the iris a bright white so that it would stand out.
For this image I adjusted the colour and contrast and the hue. The main part of the image was drawing on the blood and I created the affect by drawing it on then using a mixture of eraser/blur/dodge. I used this tutorial as a reference for the blood
For this photo I kept it fairly simple as I think the angle and the lighting in the original photo was quite good. I also used the Black and white feature on the camera. The only things I edited was the curves a bit, just to make it a bit darker.
For this image I had taken a picture of my TV turned on, but without anything on it, and the camera mode set to black and white. I used the light from hallway so that there would be just enough light but not too much. In Photoshop I altered the size of the photo slightly and rotated it a bit so it was straight. For the face in the TV, I used the face from my porcelain doll and erased any stray hairs so that it was just the face. I then altered the layer settings so that it would blend in a bit with the TV. Finally I adjusted the brightness of the layer and added a black border around the edge.
Another image which was taken with the black and white setting of the camera. In Photoshop I re-sized the image and adjusted the colour to a green-ish hue. I also warped the image slightly so that it looked a bit curved and darkened the corners of it. I did this to give of the feeling that you could possibly be looking at it through a camera. I also used the heeling tool to remove the dolls base from the image, this gives of the feeling that the doll is standing/walking on her own. I made the decision to keep the face blurred slightly so that it would give off a feeling that something may be not quite right with the doll.
This picture was also taken with the black and white setting on the camera. In Photoshop I adjusted the size and rotation of the image and I also change the brightness/contrast to make the blacks darker. I also edited the opening of the close slightly so that it would look smaller and so that the close it’s self would look longer. This image was based of the fear of darkness/ dark places.
This image is to represent the fear of spiders. To create this image I used the black and white setting on my camera and then edited the curves so that the whites would stand out more and so that the shadows would be a bit more prominent. I then added the image of the spiders and then scaled and rotated them until they fit. I also used the puppet warp tool so that I could move the legs to make them fit a bit better. Finally I added some shadow under the spiders to give them a bit of depth.
To create this image I used the black and white setting on my camera to take the picture and then, to make it seem darker, I edited the brightness/contrast and I added black to the corners. By using a layer mask i was able to make the brighter parts of the skeleton hand stand out against the dark background.
This was based on the idea that some children are scared of what could possibly be under their bed. This image was created by using the black and white setting on the camera and then editing the brightness/contrast in Photoshop. By using layer masks I made the skeleton had brighter and thus stand out more and become the focus of the picture. I then added a black border round the edges to give it a darker effect.
Unlike some of my other images, the black and white effect was created in photoshop. I altered the brightness/contrast of the image to make it darker and also added a bit of a black border around the edges to also make it seem darker. I edited out some of the reflections on the sink using the healing brush because I found that when editing the brightness, the reflections were standing out to much and I preferred how it looked without them. I also made parts of the hand brighter by creating a brighter layer underneath the darker one and then used a mask on the darker one so that the brightness came through in certain areas.
