Mt. Mayon Ledgend Once there was a beautiful princess named Daragang Magayon, and because she was so beautiful she had many princes and famous warriors that wanted her as a wife. Of all the people she could have chosen, she picked a man from a tribe that was a rival tribe and her parents would not approve. When the families found out about the affair the two decided to commit suicide together. They were buried separately and a few months after they were buried, a volcano started to grow right where the princess was buried. The volcano was later named after her for its beauty and perfection.
