The word “Likha, ” which means to create, defines the place. It’s eco-architecture at its best, adapting man-made (mostly recycled) materials with existing trees. A sign posted outside the village explains the concept. They wish to honor the trees and not raze down the forest to make way for concrete jungles. I wish more places would adapt the same ideas.

Healthy Food and Love for Trees Ili-Likha Artist Village just opened early this year 2014 and is still a work in progress. and came from same mind who conceptualized the vegetarian restaurant “Oh My Gulay” – the film director and writer, Eric de Guia, commonly known as Kidlat Tahimik. From the copy found at the entrance of the establishment, Ili-likha Artist Village is all about honoring the trees and keeping the “woody Baguio”.
