Philippians 1: 27 -30 striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved– and that by God.

Philippians 1: 27 -30 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

Phil 1: 27 – 2: 4 We are called to live our life in a manner worthy of the Gospel by striving, suffering, and serving TOGETHER for the sake of Christ.

Phil 1: 27 – 28 - Striving 27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. 1. Striving • to exert oneself vigorously; try hard: • to make strenuous efforts toward any goal • to contend in opposition, battle, or any conflict; compete. • to struggle vigorously, as in opposition or resistance

Acts 24: 16 (NIV) - So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man. 1 Thessalonians 5: 15 (NIV) - Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

2. Suffering • undergo or feel pain or distress • to sustain injury, disadvantage • to undergo a penalty, as of death • to endure pain, disability, death, etc. , patiently or willingly.

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. ”

I Pet 4: 10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Count Others More Significant than Yourself (Value Others) – Who are to build up one another (I Thess. 5: 11; Rom. 14: 19) – To care for one another (I Cor. 12: 25) – To love one another (I Thess. 3: 12; 4: 9; II Thess. 1: 3; Rom. 13: 8) – To pursue one another’s good (I Thess. 5: 15) – To bear with one another in love (Eph. 4: 2) – To bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6: 2)

Count Others More Significant than Yourself (Value Others) – To be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another (Eph. 4: 32; cf. Col. 3: 13) – To submit to one another (Eph. 5: 21) – To be devoted to one another in love (Rom. 12: 10) – To live in harmony with one another (Rom. 12: 16) – To consider one another more important than themselves (Phil. 2: 3; cf. Rom. 12: 10)
