Online Priority for Service (PFS) Intervention Monitoring System What is a Priority for Service (PFS) student? • Migratory children who are failing, or most at risk of failing to meet the state’s challenging academic content standards or have dropped out • Migratory children whose education has been interrupted during the regular school year • Migratory students who have made a qualifying move within the last three years with family or legal guardian 3
Online Priority for Service (PFS) Intervention Monitoring System What are the state Priority for Service requirements for School Districts? • Priority for Service (PFS) students need to be academically monitored • School districts must meet and complete progress review for all PFS students (K-12 & Out of School Youth (OSY)) once per semester-Twice a school year • Monitor student outcomes derived from the interventions and redirection of new interventions submitted
Online Priority for Service (PFS) Intervention Monitoring System What is priority for Service Criteria? • PFS students in grades K-2 who have made a qualifying move within the previous year and/or are LEP, who have been retained, or overage for their current grade level. • PFS students in grades 3 – 12 who have made a qualifying move within the previous year and have failed one or more of the state assessments (STAAR/EOC), or were absent, not tested or were not enrolled in a Texas school during the state assessment testing period for their grade level. • All students grades 9 -12 in a core testing area who were exempt from testing due to COVID-19 during the 2019 -2020 school year. 5
