Watch D. O. G. S. Mission • One dad or father-figure in our school every day (except Mondays) throughout the year in order to: – Be an extra set of eyes & ears on campus – Assist teachers with individual students or in groups (such as with reading or math) – Be a role model for the kids

Typical Day as a Watch D. O. G: Your day starts promptly at 8:

Typical Day as a Watch D. O. G: Your day starts promptly at 8: 50 am -Check in at the office. Your child(ren) can come with you. -Sign-in, then head outside to assist with drop-off in front of school. -Your child(ren) can stay in the office and work on an activity, read or help you out front. -After second bell (at 9: 05 am), report back to the office for morning announcements with your kids. -If for some reason, you are not able to arrive until after 9: 05, there will not be an opportunity to do announcements that day. • The parking spot is reserved for you on your day.

This might include activity reminders or Praise Note winners. • PLEASE speak in a calm tone of voice. If you raise your voice, the sound is amplified in the classrooms and everyone will be cringing! • Lead the students in the Pledge of Allegiance: “At this time, please stand face the flag (count to 4 in your head). Ready, begin…” • Picture Time!

You’re here for the entire school!

If you cannot make it, please email the Top Dogs as early as possible so they can look on their waiting list for a replacement. You can also try to trade with another dad. • “Watchdog on Duty” parking spot is yours for the day. Right in front, first spot on the left. • All Watch D. O. G. S. must be LWSD-approved volunteers. Please note this can take up to two weeks so get approved early (online is much faster). Approval must be renewed every two years. • Must wear Watch D. O. G. S. t-shirt when on duty. • The office is here to help! Check in with Brenda or Carlos if you have questions throughout the day. • Watchdog will need to sign a “Rules & Responsibilities” form prior to volunteering.
