Position…. 5 points You should take a position either for or against what it is you are persuading me to do (for example: if your essay was about who should be leader, you should tell your reader who you chose in your intro. 3. Thesis…. 5 points Your essay, and all formal essays, should have a thesis statement that allows your reader to know what to expect from your essay.
