AFS 2001: 3 From The Swedish Work Environment Authority The use of Personal Protective Equipment • ”Shall mean all equipment designed to be worn or held by the worker to protect him/her against one or more hazards likely to endanger his/her safety and health at work, and addition or accessory designed to meet this objective. ”
AFS 2001: 3 Use of Personal Protective Equipment • Personal protective equipment shall be used when the risks cannot be avoided or sufficiently limited by technical means off collective protection or by measures, methods or procedures of work organisation. • The employer shall, at no cost to the employee, provide the personal protective equipment needed for the work.
