What is personal information? • Personal information means information about you. It includes… • Your name (full name, first name or nickname) • Your age • You address • Your postcode • Whether you are a boy or girl • Your telephone number • Your date of birth • …and lots of other things too!

What is personal information? • You should only give out your personal information to people you know well. Even then, you should be careful with which bits of information you tell people. • Look at the following pictures and decide how much information you would give the person in the picture. • Think about who you would give your personal information to – do you need to give it to everyone?

This is your favourite aunt. Which information would you let her know?

This is a bus driver. Which information would you let him know?

These are famous sportsmen. Which information would you let them know?

This is your doctor. Which information would you let him know?

This is your friend’s grandpa. Which information would you let him know?

Is it different when you are online? Which information, if any, would you give a friend you only chat to online? Would you chat to, or answer, emails from people you don’t know? What would you tell them about yourself?
