Present Perfect Tense Subject + have, has + V 3 + Object. 1. ������������ He has sold his car. (When? We don’t know. ) 2. ������������ He has just painted the room. (The paint is wet. )
3. ������������������������� She has lived in this house for 2 years. (She still lives in this house. ) BUT : He lived in Australia for one year. (He doesn’t live in Australia now. ) 4. ������������������������� I’ve met Madonna. (I may meet her again; she’s still alive. – period of time not finished yet)
Special points I’ve known Ann since October. Since is used to express a starting point. For is used to express a period of time. I’ve known Ann for 2 months. Have you met him yet? I haven’t met Yet is used in questions and negations. him yet. Already is used in statements and I’ve already posted the letters. questions. I’ve just called the doctor. Just + Present Perfect He left just now Just now + Past Perfect ����� non action verbs : love, want, mean, believe and etc. Time adverbs and expression used with Present Perfect : Just, ever, never, always, already, yet, for, since, so far, how long, recently, today, this week/month/year, once, several times etc.
