Our Mission The Peralta Colleges Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit auxiliary to the Peralta Community College District. The Foundation supports academic excellence and success throughout the District by building partnerships in the region to raise funds for scholarships to committed students and financial support to the four colleges that comprise the district. The Peralta Colleges Foundation exists to enhance the intellectual, cultural, and educational needs of our students, faculty and staff, and the communities in which they work by raising funds for student scholarships and faculty grants. We collaborate with business and community leaders throughout the East Bay to increase awareness of all the Peralta Community College District offers our region and assist motivated, committed students to realize their educational goals.

Scholarships For the 2015 -2016 academic year, the Peralta Colleges Foundation awarded more than $170, 000 to 181 students from Laney College, Merritt College, College of Alameda and Berkeley City College. The Foundation also gave: - $5, 000 in grants for classroom enrichment programs initiated by faculty members at all four colleges - $8, 000 in library grants to ensure student access to text books through the reserve books program The students who attend the Peralta Colleges tend to be low-income, with approximately 70 percent qualifying for financial assistance, but this assistance falls short of making a college education affordable for many. Scholarships help many students lacking financial resources achieve their educational and career goals.
