Recount Text A text that tells the reader about one story, action or activity. Its goal is to entertain or inform the reader. Generic structure of recount text: Orientation tells who was involved, what happened, where the events took place, and when it happened. Events tell what happened and in what sequence. Reorientation consists of optional-closure of events/ending. ("Reorientation" berisi penutup cerita / akhir cerita)

The Features of Recount Text 1. Using past tense and past continuous tense 2. Using temporal sequence, e. g. On Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday 3. Focus on specific participant, e. g. I (the writer) 4. Using chronological conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc. 5. Using action verb, e. g. went, stayed 6. Using linking verb; was, were, felt, got, etc
