PEER TUTORING PROGRAM “Assisting students who need additional support in developing their numeracy skills”

Who organises this program? l A trial Peer Tutoring Program has been organised through the newly formed Peer Tutoring Club for year 8 students requiring extra assistance outside their normal maths classes. l This club will be organising tutors, who are very able mathematics Y 10 -12 students, to provide one to one mathematics tuition to Year 8 students, during Tuesday lunchtimes (in room P 001).

How will it work? l Starting Friday 17 th August a booking sheet will be placed on the noticeboard every Friday in the Year 8 centre for students to book a tutor. l Based on the number of tutors available, assistance will be provided for year 8 students on a first come first serve basis. l The Peer Tutoring Program will be implemented on a trial basis starting on Tuesday 21 st August from 12. 55 to 1. 40 pm in room P 001.

What is required? l l Record your name on membership list (circulated at the meeting) Complete the following forms by the end of this meeting: – PEER TUTORING CLUB MEMBERSHIP FORM – TUTOR PROFILE FORM (this form will also be used to provide information about tutors to year 8 students and parents via the school intranet)
