Global Health Trainees Committee § The GHTC is involved in supporting the MTI program, working closely with the NTC and MTI and Volunteering Committee § Key goals: § 1) To make national trainees aware of the MTI program and specific training needs of MTI trainees § 2) To build links between national and MTI trainees for mutual learning and working § 3) To provide local information and signpost resources to MTI doctors during a period of transition

Why the GHTC? § Interested in global health § All current national trainees from ST 2 -7 § All have experience working ooutside our own context

Why peer support?

Pilot Buddy Scheme § 15 buddy pairs across the country, paired by area but not by hospital or grade § Recommend meet ups 2 -3 times a year and phone/social media contact at other times § Suggested topics for meetings § The NHS in England § E-portfolio and how to navigate it § MRCOG prep – STRATOG, courses and revision strategies

What buddies can do § Signpost to important resources § Advise on filling in e-Portfolio, who and how to approach people for WBDs § Revise together § Answer questions about local services, how to refer to psych etc

What buddies cant do § Rent a house § Deal with serious pastoral care issues § Provide teaching or supervision
