Mission The one and the prime objective of the organization is to establish a model school in the rural backdrop of India which would actually cater to Education for all. Burden free, happy and memorable education which not only gives grade certificates but also empowers the students and instills social responsibility. We would like to spread this model in future with newer versions of education and teaching techniques which undergo incessant honing process and change the overall education scenario of India.
History • Mr. Eknath Bawankar, a lawyer by profession and a socialist formed the Gram Vikas Sanstha in 1987. • A new ‘role model’ on education was born and in 1999 when he started an English medium school ‘Pawan Public School’ to educate the underprivileged kids. • Based on the principals of Mahatma Gandhi’s Nayi Talim
Organization Structure • Vrundan Bawankar serves as executive director for the school. • She is also associated with Pratham Education Foundation, Nirman- an initiative by Dr. Abhay & Rani Bang and Jagriti Yatra.

With the new building there would be 1000 plus. General Partner Updates Success Stories: • National Innovation Foundation for their eco-sustainable product 'Pen made from Newspaper' • The number of students have been increasing by 100 -125 per year • From last 3 years, the school has got 100% result in 10 th and 12 th Board exams • The overall percentage achieved by the students is more than 80% • Innovative teaching techniques and with strictly followed 'No Tuition' Policy • The Inspire award by the Govt. of India is another pearl in our success crown
General Partner Updates Issues/problems being faced: • The school is in very bad shape infrastructure-wise • The admissions had to be stopped as the space was over-utilized.
Site Visit Report by: Mr. Shyam Pandhripande (a veteran journalist) • The school building for junior classes is atop a hillock. • The school building for higher classes is some distance away. • Buildings are old, dilapidated and leak profusely during rainy season. • Even a cursory look at the numerous huge cracks, is enough to realize that it won't be long before the walls collapse and the roof comes crashing down.
