GPS Signal is too weak – cant penetrate thick building walls. Cant be used very accurately for indoor positioning. Our aim is to use Wi-Fi based indoor localization techniques to locate movement of a person (patient/elderly) over a period of time. Use the generated information to find out his/her daily activities (movements) and use them for various purposes such as medical.

Technical – ities Use 4 wifi based signal generators and place them on four different corners of the house. Measure the received signal strength from all these signal sources to determine the object’s location. Location is identified by the fact that the combined signature value that will be generated by capturing RSSI values from all the signal sources will be unique for a location in the house.

Uses Use this technology to determine motion of a patient over time.

Uses Use this technology to determine motion of a patient over time. Profile his/her activity data to and then in future use this data to find any deviation from normal behavior. Report any abnormalities. Select a threshold value beyond which an activity if repeated or carried out in a way other then normal, will be termed as abnormality and will be reported to the observer
