10 -week undergraduate summer research & teaching program • Undergraduates can earn $5, 000 for participating • Conduct environmental science research in the Kalamazoo area with WMU science faculty • Receive mentoring from local master teachers to teach middle school students in a WMU science summer camp Learn science, Practice science, Think science, Teach science

Program runs from May 11 - July 27, 2018 Weeks 1 - 5: Learn, Practice, Think Science • Authentic, field-based environmental research • Work with a student team • WMU faculty mentoring Weeks 6 -10: Teach Science • Work with master teachers • Prepare lessons, teach middle school students, and reflection • Public poster presentation Learn science, Practice science, Think science, Teach science

We are looking for participants with a: • Strong interest in a science teaching career • Persuasive personal statement • Compelling letters of recommendation • Diverse academic background Students of color & women are strongly encouraged to apply Learn science, Practice science, Think science, Teach science
