Pathways - to High school and beyond Pre and Post Presentation Lesson Plans

Objectives & Outcomes Learners will learn and explore the various pathways in high school and possible education and career options.

Students: Materials Needed: ● Teacher: Projector, computer, speakers ● computers/Chromebooks ● Possibly: editing software, camera, cellphones (with permission)

Opening to Lesson Begin a discussion with the class by asking students about some of their “career” choice at the age of 5? (what did they want to be? ) What were some of the reasons they wanted to be a. . . firefighter, cashier, princess, . . . ) Has that “career” choice changed much since that time? Why?

Let them know that they are going to be on a career path journey. All they need to do is be honest with themselves and open to the possibilities. This is an individual journey and one that they can use as a means to map out their pathway in high school and beyond
