Let’s revise the negative form of the past simple. They punched and kicked me. They didn’t leave me alone. We moved house last year. We didn’t stay in the same house. The boys were very kind to me. The boys weren’t unkind to me. Past simple – negative form didn’t + infinitive wasn’t / weren’t *never put didn’t and wasn’t/weren’t in the same sentence
Let’s ask past simple questions I had to go to a new school. When did you have to go to a new school? I tried to grab them back. How did you try to grab them? These boys were real bullies. Why were they real bullies? Past simple questions: did + infinitive was /were + subject *never put did and was/were in the same sentence
Your task 1 Read the next paragraphs and find 4 more sentences in the past simple. 2 Copy the sentences into your notebook, you should have two sentences with regular verbs and two sentences with irregular verbs. One of the irregular verbs should be was/were.
