Rules • Formula dari kalimat pasif adalah be+ past participle/ V 3 • Dalam sebuah kalimat pasif objek dari sebuah kalimat berubah menjadi subjek • Hanya kalimat transitif (kalimat yang mempunyai objek) yang dapat diubah menjadi bentuk pasif. Example: Mary helped the boy Mary was helped by the boy
Perubahan dalam membuat kalimat pasif Active Passive Simple Present = Mary helps John is helped by Mary Present progressive = Mary is helping John is being helped by Mary Present Perfect = Mary has helped John has been helped by Mary Simple Past = Mary helped John was helped by Mary Past Progressive = Mary was helping John was being helped by Mary Past perfect = Mary had helped John had been helped by Mary Simple future = Mary will help John will be helped by Mary Be going to = Mary is going to help John is going to be helped by Mary

Rice is grown in India b. Our house was built in 1980 c. This olive oil was imported from Spain Dalam contoh (a) padi ditanam oleh orang-orang, para petani atau seseorang. Dalam kalimat (a) hal tersebut tidak diketahui atau tidak penting untuk dicantumkan secara detail siapa yang menanam padi.
