Overview When I first began this Internship I wasn’t so sure if public office was something I’d be interested in at all. I was told by both of my parents that the federal government was For people who didn’t like risks. However while working here I learned the complete opposite.

Assignments I had Surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of work to be done a lot, however this did not stop me from completing multiple legal memo’s for some of my fellow attorneys, completing a legal notebook summary and so far I’ve listened to at least 50 jail calls. As surprising as it is, the government actually runs pretty smoothly.

Things I enjoyed This internship was a great get away from normal school and that was one of my favorite things about it. It put me into a position with great people with great experience and It was home to a lot of political and legal discussion about my future. It was full of some really nice people who helped guide me over the last few months.

Things that needed work At the end of the day some thing were out of anyone's control, Technology is a huge problem and the laptop I use is 3 inches thick, old, slow and technically isn’t even mine. Now that’s not a fault on the internship, but more so the government. Besides that the general work load was low and that just means everything around here is running productive and that as well is good!

Professional skills learned Now obviously I had to learn some sort of work ethic to keep this all together, but I also had to learn legal terms and confidentiality and how ridiculous a lot of people are. As public prosecutors they deal with a lot of bad stuff, and I mean a lot. You have to maintain - Composure - Work Ethic - Responsibility

Key take Aways We have to be thankful for the office of the public

Key take Aways We have to be thankful for the office of the public prosecutor to keep bad people away, but we also have to thank the supporting staff as well! The secretaries, the aides etc. And even though I still think I would like to do private business at first, politics and government is my destiny for later in life.
