Mrs L Carlin YEAR 8 Art and Design Length of Exam: An accumulation of work over a period of lesson time to produce one final piece. Topic/s which will be covered: --Cubism Equipment Required: Pencil Rubber Sharpener Oil pastels Pencil crayons Watercolours Artist Images Cartridge paper All equipment will be provided by staff. Useful websites/resources/other information which might help students: Students will be required to use the skills they learnt during lessons to complete a drawing to the best of their ability in reference to artist studied. The following criteria will be the basis for assessment: Record (A 03) Produce observations. Apply tome to show a sense of form (3 D qualities) Draw with a controlled line. Experiment with drawing on a large scale. Record from secondary resources. Present (A 04) Present your work well with good use of space. Use materials appropriately and with creativity. Show good understanding of composition.

They can challenge themselves by using two hands and ensuring they play in time with each other. Topics: Pupils have recently been studying ‘T’es Branché’ which is a topic that covers describing your hobbies and activities as well as what technology you like to use and how. They have been working on perfecting their present tense in French and are also starting to learn the past (perfect) tense. We are starting to look at higher-level reading examples too and the skills involved in reading and writing at these new, higher-levels. Equipment Required: • Pen • Highlighter • Key Vocabulary (they will have a limit of ten words) • A plan for how they will structure their writing (in English). • They will not be allowed to use a dictionary. Skills Assessed: Extended writing in French. Spelling and Word order. Grammar targets such as using the correct spellings for the present and past tenses. Adapting the present tense with different pronouns to describe others (ie: ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘they’) ‘Ambitious’ use of new vocabulary they have learnt themselves. They learn numbers up to 100, greetings and alphabet, items in a bag, items in a classrooms as well as animals and colours. At the end of their module, they complete a piece of writing in classroom, examination conditions writing about themselves and all of these different topics. They have only ten words for help and no dictionary. Equipment Required: • Pen • Highlighter • Key Vocabulary (they will have a limit of ten words) • A plan for how they will structure their writing (in English). • They will not be allowed to use a dictionary. Skills Assessed: Extended writing in French. Spelling. Word order. Grammar targets such as using the correct articles and adjectives for masculine, feminine and plural nouns. Topics: Pupils have been learning across a range of topics as they were introduced to the ‘Mi Insti’ or ‘My School’ theme. This includes learning about describing which subjects they study at school and how to give their opinions on this in Spanish. In addition, they have been learning how to tell the time in Spanish, what they eat in the canteen and what activities they do at break-time. Their assessment will be a piece of writing describing their school life in Spanish under exam conditions. Equipment Required: • Pen • Highlighter • Key Vocabulary (they will have a limit of ten words) • A plan for how they will structure their writing (in English). • They will not be allowed to use a dictionary. Skills Assessed: Extended writing in Spanish. Ability to form sentences with the correct punctuation. Including the correct spellings of verbs.
