PARENT INFORMATION LETTER Dear Parents, Students, Family Members, and Guardians, I am excited to welcome you to the 2020 - 2021 school year! As you are well aware, this school year is beginning with many changes due to the current covid pandemic. LECC has taken many steps to create a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment for our little vikes. We will be social distancing and sanitizing as much as possible, as well as wearing masks during parts of our day (adults will wear them all day). Also, our school and classrooms might look a little different this year, but I can assure you that the LECC staff is prepared to make learning safe, meaningful, and fun! We have rearranged our classrooms and daily schedules to accommodate Lakewood’s Return To Learn Plan. However, because this virus is continuously changing, please understand that your child’s teacher could change within the first few weeks of school to maintain the safety of our little vikes. I am looking forward to having your child as a student! Parents, family members, and guardians are the driving force in their student’s life. I encourage you to show your interest by asking your kindergartener about the school day and making sure to check their backpack every night. Please refer to Seesaw and Friday folders for information about your child’s education. As a new school year approaches, I would like to share some helpful hints that I think will make the start of the school year go smoothly. • Please make sure your child comes to school prepared to learn. This means that they have received a good nights rest, have eaten a healthy breakfast (or will eat at school), and have all supplies for the day. • If possible please send your child to school with a water bottle and a face mask. • Snack will be provided by either our star student or myself every day. School Supplies The only item I highly recommend purchasing for back to school is a LARGE backpack (big enough to hold snow pants, boots, folder AND a library book!) a comfortable child size mask, and a clean water bottle. Your child is not required to bring anything to school, but as you shop those back to school sales, the following items are ones that are used in our classroom on a regular basis and donations to the class would gladly be accepted at any time: I hope this information will help you and your child get ready for a new and very exciting school year!
