What to do if the students are off task or not making ‘good choices’: Some strategies • Prevention • Praise ‘I like the way you sat down straight away’. ‘You did a great job of taking turns’ • Redirecting • Firmly stating rules Discipline is the teacher’s problem, not yours. Don’t ever be afraid to send a child to a teacher!

Confidentiality: The most important gift is trust. ‘what’s said in the classroom, stays in

Keeping academic and social progress confidential including: • any child’s progress • lack of progress • social difficulties • special needs • behavioural difficulties If you have any concerns, make these known to the teachers or principal.

Working With Children Check: Only adults who have a Working with Children check are

Working With Children Check: Only adults who have a Working with Children check are permitted to work in the school. All teachers undergo a regular police check. Form from the post office, fill it in and send it off. When it comes back, the office will need a copy for our school records.
