1. Provide inspirational teaching and a wide range of extra-curricular activities; 2. Expand the sixth form and provide a vibrant environment in which students can continue their studies; 3. Improve our facilities with a new building and a polymeric pitch; 5 -year plan 4. Ensure that our students are ‘future-focused’ and are well prepared for a life beyond school; 5. Terms of reference § The Parent Forum enables staff and parents to work in partnership to: § Improve communication § Work cooperatively in the best interests of the young people § Provide an opportunity for respectful two-way communication

§ The Governing board remains the decision-making body and provides the strategic leadership of the school. Scope § The Parent Forum is an opportunity for parents and the leadership team to discuss key issues of school life and future plans. § The Forum will consider policies, procedures and protocols which affect the overall day-to-day running of the school. § It is designed to foster effective teamwork between parents and school.

§ In April we will invite parents to complete a questionnaire § Information from the questionnaire will help to identify priorities for the college improvement plan How will it work? § In November we will ask parents to suggest topics for the Parent Forum - to be held in January § We will use the information from the questionnaire and the November letter to identify the most pressing topics for discussion at the Forum § The April questionnaire will give parents an opportunity to feed back on how well the school has addressed any concerns § All parents will be invited to the Forum

§ School policies and procedures relating to individual curriculum issues Topics not suitable for Parent Forum § Issues relating to specific children or staff § Individual complaints or grievances

§ Contact the class teacher, form tutor or head of year in the first instance How to raise an individual or specific issue § Contact the subject leader or a member of the leadership team if you are not satisfied at the end of the process

§ The old building is hard to heat Why are we getting a new building? § The old building is not suitable for wheelchair users § Classrooms are too small § Lack of water pressure § Fixtures and fittings are now obsolete § The Department for Education recognised that it would be cheaper and less disruptive to build a new block than to bring the old block up to modern standards
