Test Schedule 2016 Spring Testing Windows for Computer-based Testing PARCC Test Grade 3 -8 End of Year (EOY) BHS End of Year (EOY) Dates April 4 to May 6, 2016 March 28 to April 28, 2016 Your Building Test Coordinators are working on a testing schedule for your building including times for make-up and for alternate location testing. 5

Guidelines for Administration Time Task Time to be Allotted for an Administration Preparing for testing (includes reading instructions to students and answering questions) 10 minutes Distributing test material 5 minutes Unit testing time Completing end-of-unit activities, including closing units, collecting test materials, and administering a student survey (after EOY only) 60– 110 minutes* 5– 15 minutes *Depending on unit and subject—refer to Unit Guidelines and Schedule table in the Test Administrators Manual for each Unit Time. 7
Guidelines for Administration Time • Provide all students with the entire amount of Unit Testing Time. • Once the Unit Testing Time has elapsed, the unit must end. • A student may be allowed an extended time accommodations only if listed in his or her IEP, 504 Plan, or EL Plan. • If a student finishes early, use script Option C on page 31 of the Test Administrator Manual: “After you have logged out of the test, you may read a book or other materials until the unit has ended. ” 8
Make-Up Testing • Students who are absent, become ill, or who can no longer test because of classroom, school, or technical interruptions during original units, may utilize make-up testing. • Students are not allowed to return to any portion of the test they have already completed. • Test security and administration protocols apply. • Units may be taken out of order for make-up testing only. * Note: all units must be scheduled in sequential order. 9
Guidelines for Breaks • Between units, scheduled breaks should occur. Example (ELA/L Administration): 8: 00 a. m. – 10: 00 a. m. Unit 1 10: 00 a. m. – 10: 15 a. m. Scheduled Break 10: 15 a. m. – 12: 15 p. m. Unit 2 • During a unit, “stand-stretch” breaks may be permitted at the discretion of the Test Administrator. You will not need to pause and resume tests for this type of break. 10

Test Step 4 - Start Testing To Start the test Click on Select an action under the Testing Icon. Select Student in Sessions drop down. *** Make sure “PARCC > 2015 -2016 > 2016 Spring PARCC” is listed at the top of this screen! 15
Testing Step 5 • Click on the Session list field • Begin typing your name or homeroom code. • The list will populate with your sessions. • Select a Session. 16
Testing Step 6 – Tickets • Click the Download Resources field. (1) • Select one of the Student Testing Tickets options (Grid View, List View, 4 per page, or 1 per page) • A new browser tab should open and tickets should appear. • They can be printed from here. • Return to Students in Sessions and start the session by clicking the Green Start button. Testing Step 7 - Unlocking the Test Unit Move the buttons from the locked to the unlock position for the test unit students will be taking *** Only one test unit may be unlocked at a time. Students may also be locked and unlocked individually from the student list within each test session. 18
Testing Step 8 -Student Login • Log in to computers (1) • Username: statetest • Password: District 87 • Double click the Test. Nav icon on the desktop (2) • Choose Illinois from the menu • Enter username/password from Student Testing Ticket (4) • Click Sign In 19

Resume Test Managing Test Sessions: • If a test needs to be resumed or completed, choose that student in the test session list and choose the appropriate action in the Tasks drop-down menu. 21

Guidance for Troubleshooting Computer-based Testing • When a technology disruption affecting a single student occurs, Test Administrators should follow these steps: ‒ Note the time of the disruption. ‒ Follow procedures on troubleshooting and support. ‒ If issue persist move the student to another testing device. ‒ Document the situation in writing. • When a technology disruption affecting multiple students occurs, Test Administrators should follow these steps: ‒ Pause testing. ‒ Note the time of the disruption. ‒ Follow procedures on troubleshooting and support. ‒ Resume testing. ‒ Document the situation in writing. 25
During Testing: Security Breaches Monitoring and Reporting Security Breaches and Testing Irregularities 1. All instances of security breaches and testing irregularities must be reported to the administrator, and subsequently, the LEA Test Coordinator, immediately. 2. The Form to Report a Testing Irregularity or Security Breach must be completed within two school days of the incident. 3. And remember, you should be prepared to provide a written statement of the incident to your administrator should a security breach or testing irregularity occur. 26

Tasks to Complete After Testing the PARCC Assessment 1. Report accommodations usage and missing materials to the administrator. 3. When all students have completed all units of a test and their statuses are “Complete, ” stop Test Sessions in Pearson.
