In this script the script writer is also the director, so he had included the camera shots and actions which most script writers don’t do. In this script the writer uses a lot of description this tells us the writer has a clear image of how they want the scene to go in their head, this also helps the actors really get into character and have a rough understanding of how the scene will look. This script doesn’t use generic conventions in some parts such as the voice over at the bottom, the name of the character is narrator usually the film would have a voice over but would not be clearly stated, most films would put '(V O)'.
PANS LABYRINTH (El Laberrinto del fauno) by Guillermo del Toro This scene uses the genreic convention of using INT to show that it is an inside location. In this part of the scene they have also used the word 'same' this tells us the scene has chnaged but is in the same location. This helps give a clear sign of when the scene changes. In this part of the script the writer has detailed a camrea action, this tells us they have a clear image of what this scene will look like its shows us that thry have thought about feelings and tone in the scene In this dialoge the writer has created sympathy for carmen since they are finding it hard to talk "I-I don’t need it" also the use of puncuation the writer has shown how the actor is supposed to be either finding it hard to talk or very sick.
Mean girls by Tina Fey Mean girls was released 18 th June 2004. A rough summary of the movie: Teenage Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed "the Plastics, " but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname. Patterned language is key when writing a script, all scripts contain patterns, of sound, sights and sense. This helps the actor to fully embody the text. In this script it describes a lot before the film starts this tells me that the script writer had a clear vision of the scene and how they wanted it to go. This would also help the actors to really get into character and have a clear idea of how the scene would look, this much description would also help the designers to get a clear image of how the scene should look in their heads. To make things easier for the cast to read character lines and demonstrate the setting this script has used the usual conventions of a script by having the description on the left-hand side, then the actor's lines in the middle.
Mean girls In this script the scriptwriter has used slug lines, slug lines are used to introduce a new scene location. You get EXT which is an exterior location, so it is set outside a location for example outside on the road or in a park and you have INT which is inside a location like school or a house. So in this scene the EXT is 'front of Cady's house' and then further on changes to INT the Scripps Howard spelling bee. The amount of detail in this script tells us the writer has a clear understanding of how they want everything to look therefore wants their image to be very involved. Three act structure, this plays a big part to making a movie make sense for the audience. There are three types of movies, classical tragedy, 3 act structure and alternative. In mean girls the structure is the three-act structure narrative, the film is narrated by the protagonist which is cady heron, teenage girl who has lived in Africa her whole life to moving to America and is forced to attend public high school.

In this scene there is a very detailed description of each character like where they were born, where they attended university and what they graduated with. This shows the writer was very enthusiastic about the script since he wrote with so much detail it also shows
When a dialogue block is split, either by a page break or an action line, you will use the parenthetical (CONT'D) to indicate the second part of dialogue is a continuation of the first. This shows an actor has been speaking and there was a break for an instruction. This makes it easy for actors to see if they are continuing to speak, it also gives orders to the camera crew they will need to return to a shot that has already taken place. In this scene they don’t use the actor's names they just say 'male voice' in capital letters, usually it will be the actors name and when the have a direction it their name in lowercase letters, this makes it clear for actors to see when its dialogue or an action.
